  • Wheel Hub: The forged Wheel Hub is the central load-carrying component. Its precision-machined surfaces provide mounting for the wheel via Wheel Bolts and form the inner raceway interface.
  • Dual Tapered Roller Bearings: Robust bearing support is achieved through two sets of conical rollers running on hardened rings:
  • BEARING INNER RING (x2): Pressed onto the hub spindle.
  • BEARING OUTER RING (x2): Pressed into the steering knuckle bore.
    This dual-bearing configuration handles massive radial and axial loads, ensuring longevity and minimal friction.
  • 3. Sealing & Contaminant Protection
  • Primary Seal: The Seal, Oil (Hub Oil Seal) creates a critical dynamic barrier between the rotating hub and stationary knuckle. It retains lubricating grease within the bearing cavity and prevents external contaminants (water, dirt) from entering.
  • External Cover: The Cover – Front Wheel Hub provides an additional physical shield against large debris and road splash, enhancing the seal’s lifespan.
  • 4. Braking & ABS Integration
  • Braking Surface: The Front Brake Drum mounts directly to the Wheel Hub flange. Rotation of the hub turns the drum, allowing brake shoes to create friction for stopping power.
  • Speed Sensing: The ABS Gear Ring (tone ring) is typically pressed onto the hub. Its magnetic teeth rotate past the wheel speed sensor, generating signals for the Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) to monitor wheel rotation.
