    The core of Dongfeng Gearbox (B)’s gear selection lies in its robust fork assembly:
  • Shift Forks: Features dedicated Left shift fork, Middle shift fork, and Right shift fork for precise gear engagement across ranges. A specialized Shift fork, Hi-low speed range provides distinct ratio selection.
  • Fork Shafts: Each fork operates on hardened Shaft, left shift fork, Shaft, middle shift fork, and Shaft, right shift fork, ensuring smooth, linear movement within the housing.
  • Positive Positioning: Reliable gear lock is achieved by Positioning spring, shift fork acting on a hardened Steel ball 9.5, preventing accidental disengagement under load or vibration. Position is fine-tuned via the Positioning screw.
  • 2. Gear-Shift Lever & Control Interface
    Operator control is engineered for durability and feedback:
  • Gear-shift Lever: The primary Gear-shift lever transmits user input. Its pivot mechanism integrates a Spring, gear shift lever and Spring stopper, gear shift lever housed within a Seat, gear shift lever, providing tactile resistance and positive return.
  • Sealing & Mounting: A Dust boot protects the linkage from contaminants. The assembly is secured by Hex. head bolt M10×35 with Spring lock washer 10 and isolated from the housing by a Seat gasket, gear shift lever. A critical Set screw with dog point M8×12 ensures lever retention.
  • Internal Linkage: Motion is transferred via a durable Cold drawn steel wire φ1.4×160, connecting the lever to the shift fork mechanism.
  • 3. Gearbox Housing & Primary Sealing
    The structural foundation provides integrity and protection:
  • Gearbox Housing: The main Gearbox housing is a high-strength casting, machined to precise tolerances. Critical bores are fitted with wear-resistant Clutch shaft bush components.
  • Main Cover: Sealed by a Gearbox cover using a precision Gasket, gearbox cover, fastened securely with Hex. head bolt M12×45 and Spring lock washer 12. Parallel pins ensure perfect alignment during assembly/service.
  • Inspection & Access: An Inspection opening cover, sealed with a Paper gasket and fastened by Slotted cheese head screw M6×16 with Spring lock washer 6, allows internal maintenance.
  • 4. Lubrication Management & Drainage
    Ensures optimal lubrication and easy maintenance:
  • Sump & Drain: Features a Bottom cover secured by Hex. head bolt M12×30 and Spring lock washer 12. Lubricant is drained via an Oil drain plug, sealed by a Combined seal washer for dual leakage prevention.
  • Secondary Sealing Points: Utilizes Paper gaskets at critical interfaces. Unused ports are protected by Protecting plug, thread hole components.
